In a barrage of tweets Saturday night, U-S President-elect Donald Trump slammed Hillary Clinton’s involvement in a vote recount in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.
Trump singled out Clinton’s Nov. 8 concession speech, highlighting that the Democratic nominee stated “we must accept that Donald Trump is going to be our president” and also “we owe him an open mind and a chance to lead”.
The recount of the three key states is being led by Green Party leader Jill Stein who claimed possible incidents of voter fraud and computer hacking took place on election day.
Trump has also lashed out at Stein saying the recount is a “scam by the Green Party for an election that has already been conceded”.
The call for the recount brings into the question the final electoral count that each candidate finished with.
As it stands now, Trump won those states and has a commanding 290-232 lead in electoral votes.
Should the recount prove successful, those 46 electoral votes would see Clinton top Trump with a final count of 278-260.
Stein has stated that she is not asking for the recount to help Clinton but rather to showcase the flaws within the U-S election system.
