If the music industry has it’s way, you’ll be able to drink a little longer at your favorite bar.
On Monday, the economic development committee will host the Toronto music industry advisory council for discussions on pushing back last call.
At the meeting, the advisory council will suggest that city staff begin a study on the value of the night-time economy and the feasibility of later closing times for bars.
Current licensing laws have been in place for 20 years and several members of the council believe it`s time for a change.
Related topics that will be discussed at the get together include, will be the types of licenses that can be obtained, late night transportation, the effect on community safety and how to deal with special events.
