Toronto police have released a description of a man who died after being struck by a vehicle downtown Thursday evening.
Police describe him as mid-to-late 50s with grey hair and a goatee. He has a scar on his left eyebrow.
He was wearing a black, puffy, quilted jacket and a navy blue hoodie with the word “Canada” and a red maple leaf on it. He wore black jeans and black Adidas sneakers with green stripes.
The man had been hit by the car in the Dundas and George Sts. area shortly before 8.30.p.m., and was rushed to hospital with what was described as life-threatening injuries. He was later pronounced dead.
Reports from the scene suggest the man was trapped under the vehicle for some time.
The driver remained on scene, although there’s no word yet on possible charges.
Area roads were closed for the investigation but have since reopened.
