For the past two years, Diane Glass says her 17 year old son, Adam, would open and close his school bus’s mechanical door on the way to and from school in St. John’s, Newfoundland.
A couple of months ago, when the bus driver switched, Adam was no longer allowed to operate the door, and since then has become “very agitated.” Glass said there should be no issue with safety as he’s accompanied by two adults every day.
A spokesperson for the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District said students are “not permitted to operate the mechanical functions of a school bus” for safety reasons.
Do you think Adam should be able to continue operating the doors? Or do you think rules are rules?
