It’s a program that launched about a year ago, and it’s still going strong in 41 Division, which is bounded by Highway 401, Brimley Road, Victoria Park Drive and the lake.
Another “Coffee with a Cop” event is taking place Thursday, which happens to fall during Crime Prevention Week. The theme this year is “Planning Together for Safer Communities.”
Officers will sit down with members of the community, in an informal, neutral space to chat about building relationships, and various issues of concern.
The event runs 10 a.m. to noon, at McDonald’s, at 3150 St. Clair Avenue East.
From Toronto police:
“Coffee with a Cop” breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction. The program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members one cup of coffee at a time.
