Katrina Bookman thought she hit the jackpot at Resorts World Casino in Jamaica, Queens. The slot machine Bookman was playing on displayed $42,949,672.76. This would have been the largest slot machine payout in US history.
Unfortunately, the casino was not prepared to make the payout. The New York State Gaming Commission claimed the machine malfunctioned, and have said she only won $2.25.
Instead of the jackpot, the casino offered Bookman a complimentary steak dinner.
Bookman’s attorney, Alan Ripka says he will fight for the casino to pay her the maximum payout for the machine, which is $6,500.
Should the casino have to pay the full winnings? Or should she accept the maximum payout?
