A cyclist who was knocked to the ground by a cab driver on Bay Street late-August is due to appear in court Monday.
Baldeep Cheema of Brampton is facing a charge of assault with a weapon.
The incident, which was captured on video and subsequently went viral, shows the 31 year old cyclist banging on the window of the cab just before the driver swerves toward the right curb, and knocks him down on to the sidewalk.
Cheema, who was making a food delivery at the time, was not seriously injured.
The driver of the cab, Ali Farkhondehfall of Thornhill, was also charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle and assault with a weapon.
The 57 year old appeared in court in early October; he pleaded not guilty to the charges, and as a condition of his release, is not able to drive his cab.
As a result of their investigation, police had indicated the two were involved in another interaction shortly before the incident.
