Toronto police say tips from the public helped them track down the man wanted for multiple sexual assaults on several teenage girls near Yonge and Eglinton in mid September.
32 year old Lawyer Francois Lesieur is now in custody and charged with four counts of sexual assault.
Between September 12th and the 16th, it is alleged that Lesieur assaulted three teenage girls aged between 14 and 16 years old.
One of the girls was sexually assaulted walking to the subway at Yonge St. and Eglinton Ave. E., another in the Yonge-Eglinton Centre, and the last while at the Bloor subway station.
Toronto police released surveillance images of the suspect to the public on September 18th.
Detective Constable Matthew Pinfold said that public assistance was helpful in finding
Pinfold thanked the public for their assistance, including TTC riders, and asked anyone else who may have been a victim to come forward.
“After he committed one of the alleged sexual assaults, we were able to track him back to a business.” said Pinfold. “Someone knew who this person was and recognized him and gave that information to us.”
Pinfold would not comment on the exact nature the of assaults endured by the teens, he did say it is considered “any form of contact of a sexual nature from kissing, grabbing, groping, up to and including penetration.”
It’s believed Lesieur Law, located at Yonge and Bloor streets, is the suspects law firm which focuses on immigration issues and cross-border business.
Lesieur is scheduled to appear in a Toronto court on November 3rd.
Pinfold is appealing for other potential victims to call Sex Crimes investigators.
