A controversial Halloween decoration has been pulled after a complaint by a Toronto-area woman.
Breanne Hunt-Wells told CBC News here that Home Depot’s Scary Peeper Creeper is “inappropriate and makes light of a real-life, sinister issue that women face in our society. I fail to see the humour in it. Voyeurism is a crime in Canada.”
The $29 decoration is full-sized male head, complete with a hoodie, that one can stick on a window to scare the occupants of a house.
After CBC contacted Home Depot, the company declared that the item wasn’t in line with their “core values,” and it was promptly removed from their shelves.
Hunt-Wells, who is a teacher and mother, was reportedly pleased by the news.
