According to a recent survey in the United Kingdom of 1,000 parents, it showed that just over 10 percent allowed children as young as five to drink alcohol.
Approximately 50 percent would allow teenagers 14 and older to drink at home.
The survey showed that 25 percent didn’t see anything wrong with underage drinking, and 20 percent said they would allow minors who aren’t family members to drink in their home.
Some parents would use alcohol as a bribe to promote good behaviour. The same parents also believed they could monitor the amount their children would drink at home.
