Metrolinx is planning the largest track closure in GO Transit history in August.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Crown agency that manages road and public transport in the GTA is undertaking a “Multi-year Revitalization Project” to improve what they call the “commuting experience”.
The shed which houses Tracks 11, 12 and 13 will undergo the refurbishing of it’s steel structure roof, and as a result trains that usually depart from these lanes will be re-assigned to different platforms.
The changes have been added to new schedules that were introduced earlier in the summer, which was to accommodate current Union Station upgrades.
No specific time line was given for completion of the latest project, but it is projected to take about two years.
