Two pilots with Air Transat who were arrested in Glasgow, Scotland for allegedly trying to fly drunk to Toronto have now been released on bail after they were in custody since Monday, July 18th.
39-year-old, Jean-Francois Perreault and 37-year-old, Imran Zafar Syed were forced to surrender their passports. Both pilots are also residents in the Greater Toronto Area.
Authorities say they were both charged with being impaired from alcohol and with threatening and abusive behaviour.
According to a spokesperson with Air Transat, Pierre Tessier, Jean-Francois Perreault was the captain of the plane and Imran Zafar Syed was the co-pilot.
