The Calgary Police Service (CPS) took a man into custody Wednesday night. They believe he may have been involved in Taliyah Leigh Marsman’s disappearance.
In a release early Thursday morning, police also confirmed they have deployed resources to search a rural area east of Chestermere for evidence in relation to the case.
An Amber Alert was issued for Marsman just after 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, after her mother Sara Baillie was found dead in their basement suite in Panorama the day before.
The man taken into custody is believed to have been driving a grey sedan in the Panorama community, and was seen driving close to where Sara Baillie’s car had been recovered.
The Amber Alert for Marsman remains in place. Police will update with more information later Thursday.
