Long time Toronto Star columnist Rosie DiManno has been charged with assault following an altercation on Tuesday evening.
According to the OPP, the alleged assault took place near Bancroft, around 230 kilometres east of the city.
The news release states that there was a “physical altercation” involving two people who were visiting nearby Wollaston Township
Few other details have been released.
The news comes weeks after a prominent reporter at the newspaper took her own life, prompting an independent review of The Star’s newsroom culture.
60 year old DiManno was due to appear in court on July 26th, however a judge has since put over the case until August 23rd.
