A 41 year old Toronto man has been arrested in connection with an alleged robbery of a TTC collector and the attempted robbery of a drug store last month.
According to police, a man approached the TTC collector at Lansdowne subway station in the early hours of Saturday, May 7th and demanded money, while pointing a weapon which was concealed under his hooded top.
A quantity of cash was handed over and the suspect then fled the subway station.
It is further alleged by police that the same man entered a Shoppers Drug Mart near Eglinton Avenue West and Caledonia Road, shortly before 1.p.m on the same date and threatened to shoot a staff member if cash was not handed over.
The employee managed to flee without giving the suspect any money and he then left the store.
Saleem Al Kindy was arrested on Monday, June 13th and has now been charged with two counts of robbery with an offensive weapon and two counts of disguise with intent.
He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday morning.
