Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is on his way to Japan for the G7 Summit, which will be taking place this week on May 26th-27th.
Trudeau is also scheduled to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Tokyo at some point and he says that he is interested in looking to rebuild trade and investment relationships in Asia.
Japan was at one time Canada’s second biggest trading partner and now they rank fifth.
The Prime Minister also says that the G7 needs to engage with China on a better level in order to boost economic development and investment with other nations.
The G7 groups include the United States, Japan, Britain, Canada, Germany, Italy and France.
