Regular subway service has resumed on Line 2 between Jane and Keele, after a series of issues on Thursday.
Service was first suspended just before 5:00 p.m. when, according to Toronto fire, a blaze started in the rear car of a train between Runnymede and Jane stations.
Both Runnymede and Jane stations were evacuated as a result of the smoke produced by the fire, the cause of which is still not known.
Crews then had to deal with a secondary problem found at track level involving a junction box, while at around 8:00 p.m. sparking was reported as a train made it’s way through Runnymede station.
Shuttle buses were called in to accommodate passengers.
Full service resumed at 6:00 a.m Friday.
ALL CLEAR: The delay on Line 2, Jane to Keele has now cleared and full service will resume on line 2 at 6:00 AM. #TTC
