One of two men accused in the death of Tim Bosma took to the stand on Wednesday to testify in his own defence.
Mark Smich told the courtroom in Hamilton that it was his co accused Dellen Millard who shot and killed Bosma on May 6th, 2013.
Bosma went missing after taking two men for on A test drive of a truck he was trying to sell, his body was found burned beyond recognition more than a week later.
According to Smich, he was following behind Millard and Bosma, in Bosma’s Dodge truck, when suddenly it was pulled over.
He then said that as he approached Bosma’s truck, he saw the Hamilton man slumped over the dash, with blood everywhere and a bullet hole in the passenger window.
He also testified that they then went to Millard’s farm near Waterloo, where he helped Millard to remove the bloodstained upholstery from the truck, which was later burned along with the 32 year old’s body in an animal incinerator.
He told court he didn’t go to police because he was scared and confused.
Both he and Millard have pleaded not guilty in the death of Tim Bosma.
