An undercover operation has led to charges for a Toronto woman in a counterfeit TTC token investigation.
According to police, a woman agreed to meet to sell counterfeit tokens earlier this week.
She was met by undercover officers and arrested; they seized 109 forged tokens.
A search warrant was also executed at the suspect’s home, where more of the tokens were found.
Jia Zeng has been charged with possession of counterfeit slug, sell counterfeit slug, deal counterfeit token, attempted fraud and possession of property obtained by crime.
The 27 year old is scheduled to appear in court mid-June.
It’s estimated counterfeit tokens and passes cost the TTC roughly $2 million annually.
