It’s a somber morning of reflection at Queens Park. 260 names will be read aloud starting at 10am by two recruits from the Ontario Police force honouring officers that fell in the line of duty.
Attending the Ceremony will be the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario; the Honourable Kathleen Wynne, Premier of Ontario; the Honourable Dave Levac, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario; the Honourable Yasir Naqvi, the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services of Ontario; and the families and friends of the fallen officers.
A contingent of European Police officers, currently participating in the “MotoForPeace” mission will also be in attendance. This group has traveled to Toronto from Honduras as part of their ninth mission to raise awareness and funds to provide medical supplies and help improve communities in impoverished nations worldwide.
