An application for bail was denied on Wednesday for a Brampton man charged with terrorism related offences.
23 year old Kevin Mohamed was arrested last month out of fear he may commit a terrorist act, following an investigation dubbed ”Project Swap” by the RCMP.
Mohamed was subsequently charged with participating in, or contributing to the activities of a terrorist group over a two-year period, with police saying the offences were committed between April 2014 and March 2015 in Whitby, Mississauga and Waterloo.
The former engineering student appeared in court in Brampton today to the face the charges laid against him where bail was denied, however the reasons behind the decision to deny bail are covered by a publication ban and therefore cannot be made public.
