Police in Peel region are currently investigating two separate incidents that happened in movie theatres last week, which they now believe are linked.
According to police, unknown suspects released what police term ”a noxious substance” into a movie theatre on Rathburn Road in Mississauga on the evening of Friday, April 22nd.
At the exact same time, a substance was also released into a theatre on Great Lakes Drive in Brampton.
In both instances, the effects of the substance were similar to that caused by pepper spray, with a few patrons receiving treatment on scene by paramedics.
Police say they they are now working in conjunction with the theatre operators to ensure the safety of staff and patrons, they are also reminding the public to report any unidentified substances to police immediately.
