Mayor John Tory and Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders are meeting with leaders from the black community in a closed door session on Saturday.
Tory says this meeting will set a potential agenda for a public summit on equity issues to be held in the future.
Who has been invited for the meeting was not revealed ahead of the session.
Representatives with Black Lives Matter, who were not invited to the Saturday meet, are skeptical.
Spokespeople for the organization say they are concerned that the sessions will be too widely focused and likely will not address issues on policing related to anti-black racism.
