There’s another update in the ongoing saga between the TTC’s new streetcars and Bombardier.
CEO Andy Byford has filed a report for the next board meeting next week and says says there has been another delay in delivery.
Earlier this year Bombardier appointed promised four new vehicles per month and 55 by the end of the year
Byford say the TTC now has no current delivery schedule and the promise of 4 vehicles per month made as recently as last month won’t be fulfilled.
There are currently only 17 of the new vehicles now in service.
The TTC has filed a claim for $51 million in damages for the delayed delivery.
The city ordered 204 streetcars from Bombardier at a cost of $1.25 billion.
All the new streetcars are expected to be in operation by the end of 2019.
