Food prices have been steadily increasing, and most Canadians admit they’re having a hard time feeding their families.
A new poll from Angus Reid Institute finds low-to-higher income earners are finding it increasingly difficult to put food on the table, especially those with children in the home.
57% of respondents felt that way.
The survey also found 71% have switched to cheaper food brands, while 40% say they’ve had to resort to less healthy options.
More than half of those asked say this issue is “one of the most important” facing the country, but it’s not getting enough attention from Canada’s leaders.
