The man at the heart of the Maple Leaf Gardens sexual abuse scandal returns to a Toronto courtroom Wednesday, as his sentencing hearing gets underway.
It was originally scheduled to begin Tuesday.
Back in 2014, Gordon Stuckless pleaded guilty to 100 charges related to the abuse of nearly twenty young boys, from the late 60s to late 80s.
He was also later found guilty of two additional charges of gross indecency.
Earlier this year, his lawyer, Ari Goldkind, indicated that he’d learned prosecutors wanted Stuckless to receive 10 to 12 years.
In late 2015, prosecutors decided not to pursue dangerous offender or long term offender status; Goldkind had said neither was justified since, amoungst other things, his client undergoes chemical castration voluntarily.
