Toronto Police are looking for help from the public in identifying two people wanted in the robbery of a cab driver in December.
Police say a man and woman flagged down the cab around 5:45 a.m. on December 23rd near John and Mercer Streets.
It’s alleged the pair tried to pay for the ride using a stolen credit card at an ATM near King and University.
They then went back to the cab and assaulted and choked the driver.
There was also significant damage done to the taxi and the driver was robbed of money and the man and woman fled.
The man is described as black, long black hair tied in a ponytail with a short beard. He was wearing a fitted hat, red shirt, a puffy ribbed black jacket, black pants and black dress shoes.
The woman is described as black, heavy build, long black hair tied up in a bun, wearing blue jeans with ripped knees, grey low-cut shirt, and a jacket with a fur collar.
Police believe they are violent and dangerous and if they’re located police advise the public not to approach them and to call 9-1-1 immediately.
