The Royal Canadian Mounted Police say that one person in Waterloo is now in custody in connection to part of a national security criminal investigation named Project SWAP.
23-year-old, Kevin Omar Mohamed, who is a former student at the University of Waterloo, has been arrested by the RCMP and is now facing several offences on terror-related charges.
Supt. Lise Crouch states that it’s not known if the suspect was planning an attack here in Canada.
The OPP and Durham Police have been assisting with the investigation.
