York Regional Police have laid nine charges against a 35-year-old mother in connection with a fatal collision in Newmarket.
35 year old Tara Gawlik is accused of:
Impaired Operation Causing Death
Over 80 mgs Causing Death
Dangerous Operation Causing Death
Impaired Operation Causing Bodily Harm (2 counts)
Over 80 mgs Causing Bodily Harm (2 counts)
York Regional Police responded to a serious two-vehicle collision on Green Lane at Main Street North on January 17 at 8:45pm.
One of the drivers, a 26 year old man from Newmarket, had succumbed to his injuries on scene.
At the time of the crash, Gawlik had her two daughters in the second vehicle.
The accused had to be taken to hospital, suffering from non-life-threatening injuries.
Her passengers, the two girls, were also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday, April 7, 2016.
