A Toronto man has been charged after a heart wrenching photo allegedly showed four large dogs mauling a a 14-year-old dog owned by an arthritic 81-year-old man. Police say Kiriakos Nendos was walking his four cane corso mastiffs without a leash in Centennial Park last Wednesday morning when they viciously attacked Dacky. What made the tragic mauling worse was that the owner of the killer dogs rounded up his animals and walked away from the senior as he cradled his dying best friend in his arms.
Nendo has also been charged with failing to exercise reasonable precautions to prevent a dog from biting or attacking under Ontario’s Dog Owners’ Liability Act. The charge carries a maximum penalty of $10,000 in fines and up to six months in jail.
Do you think its time Toronto has a rule against multiple dogs? Do you think $10,000 in fines and up to six months in jail is justice?
