Toronto has abandoned Councillor Rob Ford’s pilot project to clearly mark city ‘ticket traps’.
The Toronto Star’s “Fixer” discovered HERE that faded red paint is all that marks the fire hydrant outside the Superior Court of Justice, a spot that has generated $300,000 in fines over 5 years.
Ford painted the curb himself in 2013 to mark it for motorists in an attempt to save them from a fine.
Naz Capano, manager of planning and policy with Toronto’s transportation services, argues that fewer people did park in that location for a brief period of time, but drivers eventually reverted back to their bad habits.
