Ontario Progressive Conservative Leader Patrick Brown announced this weekend that he is in favour of putting a price on carbon.
He made this comments concerning carbon and climate change in front of 1,600 delegates at a PC convention this Saturday.
“Climate change is a fact. It is a threat. It is man-made. We have to do something about it, and that something includes putting a price on carbon.”
Rather than break out in a wild applause during a standing ovation, the Conservative audience reacted with muted hand-clapping. Some in attendance shouted “no.”
Brown clarified that while the Liberal Government’s cap-and-trade plan is estimated to bring $1.9 billion into government coffers in its first year, he believes that any carbon scheme should be revenue neutral.
Comments on the AM640 Facebook group reveal that not too many people were happy with Brown’s declaration.
The Ontario PC leader’s comments followed the unveiling of the party’s new logo. What do you think of it?
