Justin Trudeau was in town today to pay a visit to the Toronto Zoo, where the pair of giant panda cubs born at the Scarborough attraction last fall made their first public appearance.
The Prime Minister was joined by Premier Kathleen Wynne and Mayor John Tory at the event, where the cubs, a male and a female were named.
The zoo conducted on online poll to select the names for the twins born to mother Er Shun last October.
The names of the twin giant panda cubs are Jia Panpan (Canadian Hope) & Jia Yueyue (Canadian Joy).
The event was closed to the public, however zoo patrons will get the opportunity to see the four month old bears beginning Saturday, March 12th.
