Get ready to bundle up.
Toronto’s Medical Officer of Health has issued an Extreme Cold Weather Alert.
The temperature is expected to plunge to -12 C Thursday night but it will feel closer to -20 C with the wind chill.
The alert triggers extra services for homeless people, including the handing out of TTC tokens to get them to a shelter.
Two 24-extreme cold weather drop-ins are available during the months of January and February.
The public is encouraged to check on neighbours and family to ensure they are safe.
