The parents of Duvel Hibbert is suing the Muzik nightclub, claiming the facility didn’t provide enough security guards to prevent the violence that killed their son.
Hibbert was only 23 when he was shot and killed outside of the club on August 4 at the after-party of Drake’s OVO Festival. While Hibbert was an intended target, another innocent bystander was killed trying to escape the hail of gunfire. The lawsuit will be filed Wednesday, with the plantiffs are seeking $2.5 million. Muzik has argued that the club has made over $250,000 in security upgrades since the shooting.
