The mayors of Canada’s 21 biggest cities will have their hands out when they meet with Prime Minister Trudeau in Ottawa Friday morning.
They’re expected to press Trudeau to speed up his government’s plan to boost spending on infrastructure as a way of injecting some life into the country’s sputtering economy.
On Wednesday, Trudeau agreed to fast-track $700-million of infrastructure money to assist Alberta.
The Liberals have pledged to spend an additional $60-billion on infrastructure over the next decade.
Of that sum, about $5-billion is due to be handed out in the fiscal year that starts April 1st.
