Lambton OPP have charged a 50 year old Brampton man with first degree murder in connection with a deadly transport truck fire along Highway 402 near Sarnia.
Officers were called to the scene on the westbound 402 at the Camlachie Road overpass, just east of Sarnia, around 3:15 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31.
The body of 37 year old Gurpreet K. Brar from Brampton was discovered in the burnt vehicle. The victim was sent to the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Services in Toronto for further examination.
Members of Lambton OPP and the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch continued to investigate the circumstances pertaining to the fire and subsequent death.
On Wednesday, OPP announced they have charged 50-year-old Sukhchain Singh Brar, also from Brampton, with first degree murder.
He’s scheduled to appear in Sarnia court on Thursday to answer to the charge.
