A British study on behalf of family law organization Resolution in the U.K. found that 82 percent of people aged 14-22 would rather have their parents separate than to stay together for their sake. While parent separation is extremely upsetting to children, many eventually come to terms with the split and adjust to the changes. While this study didn’t consider the views of younger children, the results show how divorce impacts children years after the fact.
