A 73 year old Toronto man is facing a charge of second degree murder in connection with the death of a woman in North York.
Police say that they responded to a call on Otonabee Avenue, near Yonge Street, shortly before 11.a.m on Sunday, January 16th.
Once on the scene, police found a 68 year old woman with what they describe as obvious signs of trauma.
The woman, who has since been identified as Annunziata Melaragno, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have confirmed that a postmortem has taken place, but that they will not be releasing the cause of death at this time.
Dario Melaragno has since been arrested in connection with the death and has been charged with second degree murder.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, January 28th.
