A new study out from the Journal of Pediatrics says the cost of concussions is much higher than allowing your kids to keep playing hockey.
They are saying symptoms last significantly longer for student hockey players in earlier stages of puberty and warns younger players should be discouraged from “playing up” with older, more physically mature athletes.
Dr. Peter Kriz,sports-medicine physician affiliated with Brown University says “The potential injury risk, specifically with concussion, probably outweighs the benefits of developing skill,”.
