Looking forward to lunch time already? The top earning CEOs in Canada certainly are.
According to The Canadian Centre For Policy Alternatives, by 12:18 p.m., they will have earned $48, 636 , which is the average wage of a full-time employee.
Combined, the country’s highest paid CEOs made nearly $9 million dollars each last year, on average, which includes bonuses, share grants and stock options in addition to salaries. That’s a 2% drop from the year before.
The Centre says the average CEO income is about 184 times the average wage in Canada.
“The total pay package of the 100 highest paid CEOs exceeds the 2014-15 budgetary deficits of every province in Canada except Ontario, Quebec, and Newfoundland. What we’ve learned is that the average pay of the top 100 CEOs in Canada has proven to be extraordinarily resilient, in good times and bad.” – CCPA Research Associate Hugh Mackenzie.
