The Toronto Taxi industry has already determined its New Year’s resolutions in order to better compete with Über.
The TTA’s six-point plan includes maintaining a cleaner interior in the cabs, more accommodation of shorter fares, and being friendlier with customers. The Alliance also wants drivers to stay off their cell phones while while carrying passengers, and to not block bike lanes when picking up and dropping up customers. Toronto’s taxi industry has faced increased competition when the ride-sharing service Über popped up all over city streets.
