Police are seeking help from the public in locating a woman who failed to remain at the scene of a collision.
The accident happened on Tuesday, December 15th around 8:45 a.m. near Parliament Street and Winchester Street.
According to officials, an 11-year-old girl was struck while attempting to cross the road by an Acura TL travelling northbound on Parliament Street.
The child was knocked to the ground, and the female driver exited the vehicle and got in a verbal dispute with a witness who was sitting in a wheelchair on the southeast corner of the intersection.
The woman returned to her vehicle making no attempt to speak to or assist the child who had been struck. The woman also failed to surrender any information to the child.
The child was treated in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The woman is described as white, 30-40, medium build, with reddish-blonde shoulder-length hair, wearing a light-green jacket, dark pants and driving a white, four-door 2004-2006 Acura TL.
Police are also looking to speak with the man who was sitting in the wheelchair at the intersection.
