Toronto Police now have charged a man with second degree murder following a fatal stabbing near Yonge and Gerrard Streets.
Investigators say that the incident at 38 McGill Street took place around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday and it could possibly have been a robbery gone wrong with the belief that the suspect and the victim may not have known each other.
The victim was 39-year-old Mark Ernsting of Toronto.
He was stabbed multiple times and later died in hospital.
Police arrested 21-year-old Calvin Michael Nimoh in the Summerhill and Yonge area about an hour later in an unrelated incident.
He was scheduled to appear in court at College Park today.
Update: Victim has succumbed to injuries. The investigation is now being taken over by the homicide unit.^adc
