“Tag, you’re not it”
Toronto elementary school St. Luke has banned tag, and other activities that involve physical contact, from their playgrounds because children started to get too rough with the game. This rule came in effect in November and is still on since then.
Toronto Catholic District School Board spokesperson John Yan explained that “The game of tag they were playing was getting overly physical and rough”. It involved tackling, shoving and punching, even running over each other. 2-3 children per recess were being sent to the office with injuries – not specified as minor or major.
Is the school going too far?
