The family of deceased NHL defenceman Steve Montador is suing the NHL, saying the league failed to provide him with proper documentation about long-term brain injuries.
He had a well-documented history of concussions, depression, memory loss, and erratic behaviour during his 10 seasons in the NHL. According to his son, Steve was in 69 fights and suffered 15 concussions. Steve was found dead in his Toronto-area home this past February.
Is the responsibility on the NHL or the player for his well-being?
