Christmas Tree day
It’s a day dedicated to the symbol developed in early modern Germany in which devout Christians brought decorated trees into their homes.
Ontario’s provincial government dedicated an entire day to the holiday tradition, in June, when the province passed the Christmas Tree Day Act, proclaiming the first Saturday in every December as Christmas tree day target=”_blank” “Christmas tree day”.
The Christmas Tree Farmers of Ontario and the Canadian Christmas Tree Growers Association boast more than 600 christmas tree growers in the province.
Both organizations estimate that about a million trees are sold every year in Ontario.
