The Auditor General will table her annual report Wednesday morning, and it’s expected the governing Liberals will not be painted in a very positive light.
Bonnie Lysyk’s report covers 14 program areas which were audited by her office to determine if taxpayers were in fact getting good value for their money.
One of the areas of most concern is Hydro One, and whether or not the electricity system is ensuring transparent, accountable and efficient planning to meet demand.
The provincial Liberals have come under fire since it announced plans to sell off 60% of the utility; critics argue that, amoungst other issues, this will make it less transparent, and therefore less accoutable.
Lysyk’s report will also focus on long-term care homes in the province, and the administering of welfare and disability payments.
More to come.
