Five year old Isis Taylor of Illawarra from Australia hasn’t had the best luck with her name these days. Nutella isn’t helping either.
Ina recent promotion, Nutella has been offering personalized to the public, allowing them to put their names on it. However, they refused to produce one with Isis’ name because of the link to the Islamic State terrorist group, ISIS. They explained to Isis’s mother that her name was inappropriate for the promotion. Her mother shot back: “I’m really quite upset by this […] You are actually making my daughter’s name dirty. You are choosing to refuse my daughter’s name in case the public refers to it negatively”.
Does Nutella have a valid point here or is this discriminatory?
