A video has been circulating showing a TTC operator doing push-ups on a bus carrying some passengers. The route of the bus and driver’s identity has not been found, and they have not received any complaints about it.
In response, TTC spokesperson Susan Sperling explained that they “do have a policy called ‘Operating excellence’ but that deals with things like eating and drinking, smoking, phone use, sleeping — that kind of thing. This would be more in the realm of expectations around customer service. […] It looks as if it’s an almost-empty bus, it looks as if it’s fully-parked and looks as if there’s no danger to anyone and is safe. […] I guess at this point, it would be expectations around ‘Don’t do that’ kind of thing with customers on a bus. They drive very long shifts, so if he had stepped out of the bus and was doing that against a wall, that’s like stretching and it would make sense.”
